Abstract
The ‘Burkina Faso Video Corpus - B. Taverne 1993 - 1999’ consists of a set of video recordings made between 1993 and 1999 in rural Mossi areas, in the villages of Sawana and Ziga (Ziga canton, Ziniaré department, Oubritenga province, Central Plateau region). The recordings were made by Bernard Taverne (anthropologist, doctor) and Hamadou Sigui Kabré (research assistant). The videos were recorded in the course of research into the anthropology of health, and cover a range of everyday activities, whether individual, family or collective, and covering a variety of topics (domestic life, craft techniques, farming activities, funeral ceremonies, the activities of healers, etc.). The final corpus is made up of 61 files, in .mp4 format, varying in length from 1 minute to 174 minutes. Technical aspects are detailed in the appendix.
