Abstract
This article presents a summary of studies conducted by the authors on the genus Fedia (Caprifoliaceae, formerly Valerianaceae). The results have been published in several journals (see bibliography). This summary provides information on the beginnings of the study on the genus Fedia; proposes a new taxonomic classification and a new interpretation of its main characteristic: the intrapopulational polymorphism of its fruits. It also presents the main results obtained on chromosome number, pollen morphology, presence of flavonoids, phenetic and phylogenetic relationships, as well as a detailed description of the species that allows their identification. Finally, new possibilities of studies are suggested.
