Abstract
This curriculum is designed to equip social scientists and students with the knowledge and skills to address key issues surrounding epidemics, focusing on their social, anthropological, historical, and public health dimensions. It comprises 13 modules covering various scientific topics, along with an appendix to facilitate the organization and evaluation of training sessions based on this document. The modules feature examples drawn primarily from epidemics such as HIV, Ebola, COVID-19, cholera, and plague, provided by 25 authors with field experience. The examples highlight the vital role of social scientists in collaborating with public health specialists before, during, and after outbreaks.
