Abstract
Cardioprotection has failed because of the two cell types that make up the heart, only the anti-apoptotic effects of MSCs on cardiomyocytes have been demonstrated, whereas protection, to be effective, must also involve vascular cells, in particular endothelial cells, which constitute the most abundant cell population with cardiomyocytes. The beneficial effects of MSCs on the vascular component of cardiac tissue previously described only concerned a pro-angiogenic action of MSC inducing the restoration of vessels in the cardiac tissue. This is the first time that anti-apoptotic properties of MSCs without any cell contact on endothelial cells subjected to H202-induced stress, mimicking the oxidative stress of ischemia-reperfusion are described. The invention consists of an incremental and assembly technological innovation. Indeed, this invention makes it possible to confer a new property to MSC paracrine effect by a compound that targets the PPAR pathway in order to reveal their antiapoptotic properties on endothelial cells.
