Abstract
The present invention relates to a device for filling a fuel tank, in particular for a motor vehicle. The filling of a motor vehicle fuel tank using a nozzle connected to a fuel supply pump and introduced into a nozzle receiving mouth connected to a fuel supply pipe of the tank is well known. It often results in untimely nozzle shut-offs, sputtering and fuel spillage due to the backflow effect when the user uses filling nozzles with the flow rates available at service stations. Such malfunctions are linked to the difficulty of controlling the flow of fuel through the feed pipe. For example, the initial fuel flow condition already varies according to the position of the fuel nozzle imposed by the user. In addition, fuel flow is strongly disrupted by the impact of the fuel jet against the inner surface of the supply nozzle, which causes foaming and sputtering of the fuel. Finally, the flow of fuel from the moment it enters the supply manifold and along its entire length is chaotic, rather than homogeneous.Various solutions have been adopted to date in an attempt to eliminate these malfunctions during tank filling. These solutions have involved increasing the diameter of the feed pipe at its lower end, installing anti-backflow cones or flaps at the bottom of the feed pipe, and fitting a nozzle to guide the fuel jet. However, these known solutions have not given complete satisfaction and are relatively costly. The present invention proposes a fuel tank filling device designed to minimize the risks of untimely cutting of the feed nozzle, spitting and fuel spillage, and to facilitate flow.
