Abstract
Can we define the quality of life? Manufacturers in the pursuit of excellence and the best rates of profitability characterize quality as the ability of a product or service to meet the expressed or latent needs of users. To achieve this objective, they implement techniques which target not the raw material but the person who transforms it, by his actions or by his orders, man. These techniques are called information, communication, motivation, initiative, knowledge and competence. So, the quality of life? After submitting the definition of health, as formulated by the World Health Organization, to the test of efficiency, this issue of Prévenir, coordinated by Daniel Bley and Nicole Vernazza-Licht, attempts to identify the idea of quality of life and to inventory the multiple elements which contribute to it.See also BLEY Daniel (dir) Living and working environment, the dimensions of a quality of life, Edisud 2005
