Résumé
This discussion addresses a selection of contemporary dance adaptations of Shakespeare's 'Macbeth' and explores how companies negotiate the undertaking of transposing a work which is so linked in audiences' minds with a text-dense experience into a visual and performative experience. Attention is paid to critical debate surrounding dance adaptation as well as to contemporary critical reception of such adaptations.
