Abstract
An Eigenerosion method for heterogeneous media. The Eigenerosion process devel-opped by Pandolfi and Ortiz [ Int. J. Numer. Methods Eng. Wiley 92 (2012) 694-714 ] combines the vari-ational approach of Francfort and Marigo [ J. Mech. Phys. Solids Elsevier 46 (1998) 1319-1342 ] with a " killing element " method in order to simulate quickly and efficiently the crack propagation in an homogeneous media. An extension of this method to the heterogeneous media is proposed here and applied to the multicrack of a concrete model. The volume fraction of the aggregates and their size polydispersity is investigated with a parametric study .
