Abstract
An excavation conducted in 2014, at Nîmes, rue de Saint-Gilles, southern to actual Porte de France, brought to light the neighbouring of two antique roads, lying with several settlements including twenty nine burials dating from Second Iron Age to High Middle Age. Between architectural and carving stones reused in the building of the IVth-VIIth century’s burials, an antique funerary stele mentions the funerals of a gladiator. This stele comes and fleshes out the nîmoise collection of now eighteen funerary inscriptions on this topic. This is also an opportunity to take into account the whole corpus throuhout an new advanced examination.
