Résumé
This article analyzes the result of the referendum about European constitutional treaty in Languedoc-Roussillon. While the regional political elite was massively favorable to the latter, 62% of the regional citizens have voted against the European treaty. The extent of this negative vote, & the evolution between two ballots (European referendums 1992 & 2005), requires the successive assessment of the socio-economic, demographic & political variables as they contribute together to explain such a result.
