Résumé
In this communication, our aim is to explore the relationship between knowledge management (KM) and human resource management (HRM) practices. A literature review reveals that HRM practices are necessary to ensure the success of KM projects more precisely the appraisal and incentive practices. An exploratory empirical study leads us to analyze how the KM appears and is formalized in appraisal supports of large French companies using the model of KM (M. Alavi and D. Leidner, 2001). Our main findings are that formalization, in the appraisal of competencies about knowledge management is very unequal. Arguing that there is a need for a greater interaction between the concerns of HRM and KM, the purpose of this paper is to integrate KM programs with HRM policy. We suggest that this is a pre-condition to enhancing the efficiency of a KM program. Reproduced by permission of Bibliothèque de Sciences Po
