Résumé

Although the tongue is easily accessible for medical examination, it is often overlooked. The shape, color, and surface pattern of the tongue are clues to diagnosing inflammatory conditions of the tongue which include noninfectious, infectious, and nutritional disorders. In addition, laboratory and histological investigations may be needed to confirm certain diagnoses. This review provides an update on tongue disorders in pediatric patients.
