A proper understanding of the relationships between the armed forces and the defence industry a problem shared by many contemporary societies should, in France, take into account the role played by the General Delegation for Armaments. Even if, in France, one finds logics similar to chose affecting these relationships in other countries, today as in the 1960s the General Delegation appears as a major agent that determines the balance between the various protagonists of armament policies.
