Abstract
Three series of new ionic liquids (ILs), namely imidazolium‐, pyrazolium‐, and bis‐benzimidazolium‐containing ILs, were prepared from low‐cost, unprotected carbohydrates. Information on anion‐cation interactions and solvation shell were obtained via diffusion NMR and heteronuclear Overhauser correlation maps (HOESY), respectively.
