To prep. stable polymer-titania hybrids, titania particles were modified using urushiol (extd. from Japanese lacquer) via surface complexation. The urushiol moieties underwent hydrosilylation and radical graft-polymn. to yield polymer-titania hybrids in which the titania particles were dispersed in polymer matrixes.
