Résumé

Animal behavior Animal memory Predation
By combining elementary orientation mechanisms with a path-integration process, two spatial memory-based searching mechanisms were modelled. The mechanisms make it possible to account for the behavior of many animals that increase their search effort in the vicinity of a given memorized location to efficiently discover a small target likely to be in the area.
