Abstract
Based on sociobiographical interviews with men seeking asylum in France on the grounds of their sexual orientation or gender identity, or both, the authors explore, in this article, the plural role of ludo-sport practices in sexual and gendered socialisation processes. They show how sports experiences are sometimes the site of the imposition of a heterosexist cultural script inherited from the colonial period and reinforced since, and sometimes that of the construction of homosexual interpersonal and intrapsychic scripts. These two, a priori contradictory, movements can coexist and feed off each other. Respondents either submit to them or control them accordingto their individual dispositions.
