Abstract
The 14th edition of the RIPSYDEVE conference, led by the Psychology research unit Epsylon (Montpellier), aimed to promote the interaction between research and practice and to increase the visibility of developmental and educational psychology research. The theme of socio-emotional development was particularly represented during the conference. Socio-emotional issues are now central to our conception of the individualand its development. Current models categorize various socio-emotional skills that have been shown to have a significant impact on the health, well-being, and academic and social success of children and adolescents. Based on this observation, numerous training programs for socio-emotional competences have been developed and are now recommended internationally to be integrated into school programs. Since the design of this type of program is based on the existing scientific knowledge, it is essential to further investigate the development of socialemotional competences. This thematic issue contributes to this objective and encourages questions about possible applications in the fields of education and health in particular.
