Résumé
For several years, many French supermarket businesses have engaged in programs of durable development (DD). The communication methods they have employed have made these programs the object of attention for researchers in Management Sciences. Since the engagement of the law on the New Economic Regulations (article 116), the groups connected to the CAC40 have the obligation to draft the Annual Reports on Durable Development (RADD), as well as the Social Responsibility of Enterprise (RSE). At the heart of these documents are numerous economic indicators, both environmental and social. Concerning the regulatory cadre, DD policy comprises a source of advantages pertaining to competition. In the RSF materials, supermarket distributors appear to have innovated little and their practices remain unchanged. Our study of RADD and integrated alimentary distribution groups attempts to furnish a clarification of the manner in which these businesses communicate their societal practices. It is primarily a study of the production and visibility of economic and social indicators and their capacity to standardize DD progress materials. To accomplish this, the work consisted of a comparative analysis of the indicators present in the RADD reporting tables from 2002-2007. W. Butler
