Abstract
Reducing the use of pesticides is a key objective for human health and the environment. While there have been efforts to implement virtuous practices, they are still not sufficient. The impact of changes in agricultural practices on working conditions is analyzed through the use of integrated crop protection measures and the nine general principles of prevention. Then, each agricultural practice is evaluated based on agronomic, environmental, economic, and social criteria, with corresponding work situations assessed using the "Individual, Task, Material, Environment" method. Environmental and agronomic assessments have yielded positive results, however, social assessments tend to be more negative. There is an increase in work time, staff, and equipment requirements, as well as a growing need for additional training. This poses a challenge to the widespread adoption of these techniques. By combining agronomic and ergonomic expertise, we have developed an assessment tool for occupational health and safety specialists to design preventive actions that support changes in farming practices.
