Abstract
Convention tourism is a convenient topic to analyse current and « in embryo » territorial recompositions. On the one hand, the temporal and spatial evolution of the international meetings distribution, by continent and state, reveals the changes reaching essentially Europe (decreasing) and Pacific-Asia area (increasing). On the other hand, the study of the variations of the worlwide convention cities network allows us to observe, simultaneously, more and more towns accomodating international meetings and an unceasing leadership from major cities, still having the lion's share of the market. High level urban activity linked to information, communication, innovation, convention tourism takes part in the globalisation territorial fixation.
