Abstract
A total of 125 snakes belonging to 32 species were collected in May 2021 during a field survey in two areas of south-eastern Katanga (Kashobwe, 09°40’S / 28°37’E, and vicinity of Bwalia, 10°58’S / 28°09’E). Philothamnus bocagii Günther, 1888 is revived from the synonymy of Philothamnus semivariegatus (Smith, 1847) and Atractaspis katangae Boulenger, 1901 from the synonymy of Atractaspis bibronii Smith, 1849. Afrotyphlops dinga (Peters, 1854), which has priority on Afrotyphlops mucruso (Peters, 1854), is revived. Dispholidus punctatus Laurent, 1955 is treated as a full species and no longer as a subspecies of Dispholidus typus (Smith, 1828). Dasypeltis congolensis Trape, Mediannikov, Chirio and Chirio, 2021 and Boaedon fradei Hallermann et al., 2020 are mentioned for the first time from Katanga.
