Abstract
What’s interactivity all about? Because the notion of interactivity is linked with the notion of “interaction”, as it is with multimedia communication, one could ask oneself what kind of discursive interaction does it imply? In order to answer this question, the exchange within the interactive mechanism will be analyzed accordingly to the linguistic theory of the enunciation and the modeling of conversation by Eddy Roulet and the École de Genève. This theoretical framework suggests that illocutionnary force finds itself behind both the “moves” of the computer and those of the user : a phenomenon that one could define as either initiative or reactive relations. Nevertheless, our study shows that, most of the time, the position of the user can be seen as reactive facing the “offering” interactive feature, even if in some particular cases of interaction intitiative can be handled over to the user…
