Abstract
The types of wetlands, especially ponds, are essential aquatic biotopes in the landscape of Martinique. Theyare characterized by the permanent or temporary presence, at very shallow depth, of fresh water by the preponderance of a phytocenosishygrophile and by the existence of a hydromorphic soil. The objective of this article is to identify these lentic ecosystems from ahydrogeomorphological and floristic. We inventoried twenty-three ponds. Then, we established a first classification thatsucceeded in distinguishing forest pools from savannah pools. Then, we identified seven hydrophyte species and one helophyte.
