Abstract
Alongside the introduced avocado, only the parasitic herb Cassytha filiformis was reported in the literature for the Lauraceae family in the Wallis and Futuna archipelago. Through new collections, integrated into molecular phylogenies, and the study of old herbarium specimens, we report three other native species, all three only from Futuna and/or Alofi, which had been described from neighbouring islands (Samoa and Fiji). A key to the five Lauraceae known from the island is provided, along with a plate of the little-documented Cryptocarya elegans species. This work reminds us that the inventory of the flora of Wallis and Futuna remains incomplete
