Abstract
Since these last ten years research is being developped on the palaeogeographic and environmental evolution around Lattara, on the Languedocian shore in he Holocene. From the Neolithic, the vast lagoon is overrun with the alluvial deposits of the river Lez. The formation of the delta leads to a retraction of the lagoon at the surface as in depth and also to the progressive moving east to west of the river. Founded within this environment, the city of Lattara adapts itself to the change of the lagoon coastline and of the river Lez branches. Afforestations of plains, rich in Ash and Elm, will during the Iron Age give place to agricultural lands and the city will exploit the Mediterranean oak grove taking benefit to the local biodiversity.
