Résumé

History of Economic Thought through 1925: Socialist, Marxist (B14) History of Economic Thought: Individuals (B31) Socialism Socialists
Pierre-Joseph Proudhon (1809-1865) produces a critical analysis of property, but he is also critical about solutions proposed by social reformers (L. Blanc, P. Leroux, E. Cabet, etc.). The latter replace property by community or socialist association. The "association mutuelliste" is the alternative advocated by P.-J. Proudhon; it is defined as an intermediary principle between socialist association and property in the classical political economy. It constitutes one of the first theoretical attempts aiming at combining liberty and equality requirements.
