Abstract
The hillfort of Mervent dated of the Early Iron Age extends over 33,5 hectares. He is localised in a meander formed by two rivers which is blocked by two ramparts. That of Chêne Tord, builds wooden was set on fire, what allowed a good preservation of its architecture. Measures of the radiocarbon in lines of defence have been realised. Finally, perspectives are proposed to pursue the research in the more general frame of the whole forest massif of Mervent.
