Abstract
Does depending towards social welfare services and systems of care and help have effects on styles of subjectivation? Does it produce a form of subjection to the models of healthcare spread by the biomedical world, in particular through the mode of investment in the physical and sports activities? The statistical treatment of our data (a survey on French people living with HIV) shows how the embodiment of “good practices” – in particular regarding physical practices – within the framework of the careers of “chronic patients”, partake of a process of social production of the vulnerability of the body.
