Résumé
U-Pb dating on zircons indicates an emplacement age of 638 +- 3 m.y. for the quartz-fayalite monzonite (bauchite) pluton of the type locality in Bauchi (Northern Nigeria). There is an outcropping concordance of this pluton with the associated migmatite gneiss and foliated granites along the phase 2 basement schistosity (NE-SW) as well as the mineral lineation exemplified in large oriented microcline crystals. The age obtained confirms the widespread nature of the syntectonic granitic rocks in the West African Pan-African domain.
