Abstract
As part of our study of the seismotectonics of France, we are interested in the effects of redistribution of mass at the Earth's surface on the potential activation of faults. Two processes generating a flexural response are studied: glacial cycles (GIA, Glacial Isostatic Adjustment) and erosion. Our work is motivated by the fact that that the effects of these two processes have never been quantified at the scale northern France, even though they have been have been proposed as the cause of reactivation of faults in other regions other regions of northern Europe.
