Abstract
At the Faculty of Education, Université de Montpellier, we curated the exhibition Voir/Montrer la guerre aujourd'hui to study the reception of artworks using different media and questioning the representation of war, for educational and training purposes. All of us, adults and children alike, have become familiar with images of war through newspaper headlines, websites, video games, illustrated books, social networks and so on. So we ask ourselves: are we in a position to show and see war? To answer this question, we first need to study the reception of the objects we show, in terms of their relationship to reality and fiction. At first glance, the issues at stake were manifold, so we focused on a few questions: how does the display of these objects call into question the degrees of veracity attributed to the medium by the receiver? In what way does an exhibition imply the narration of iconic and media objects?
