Abstract
is article proposes a threefold analysis of regional elections in March 2010 in Languedoc- Roussillon. Its rst questions the originality of the regional mandate, at a time when a complete reform is announced and will a ect this kind of middle-range elite. It is based on a qualitative approach, focusing on the uses and functions of the regional mandate in Languedoc-Roussillon. e second part is a quantitative analysis of key results starting om the participation towards the in ections that undergoes the le -right ratio in the region. It a empts to show how the populism and ultra-media coverage of this election in Languedoc has not produced the expected e ect in terms of electoral mobilization. Finally, we will project these results on a Languedocian political map, by looking at continuities and discontinuities in the electoral implantation of the main political forces.
