Abstract
In recent years, as the “festivalization of culture” has been proliferating – both quantitatively and qualitatively – research into festivals has also been progressing. This article, which interprets the results of an international report published in 2013, begins with a reflection on the logical and paradoxical connections between festivalization and globalization. It then delves into the singular example of the Eurockéennes de Belfort festival. A survey of this festival conducted between 2010 and 2017 shows the logic, which is simultaneously global and local, that is at work in such “international” festivals.
