Résumé
The first synthesis of a benzoxaphospholene compound was reported exactly fifty years ago. This started an explorative journey for synthetic entries into this class of heterocycles. An overview with possible strategies and precursors to (benz)oxaphospholenes as well as potential applications are described in the Review article by C. V. Stevens et al. on page 17413 ff.
