Abstract
An adult of Monochamus (Monochamus) sutor sutor (Linnaeus, 1758) has been found alive in Lebanon in 2014. This potential vector of the phytoparasitic pine nematodes Bursaphelenchus spp., the causal agents of pine wilt disease, is a serious threat to Lebanese forest. The circumstances of the discovery are given, followed by information about the genera Monochamus and Bursaphelenchus applied to Lebanon. An evaluation of the risk for forests of Lebanon is specified.
