Abstract
Contrary to popular belief, the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) is not merely a repository of crystal structures.With over 1.25 million entries of organic and organometallic structures, the CSD is a rich source of information.Beyond raw structural data, it provides access to a wealth of derived structural properties and may offer predictivecapabilities for physicochemical properties based on machine learning. The CSD could also serve as a source ofinspiration for teaching molecular chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This article aims to presentthe advanced functionalities of the CSD and to illustrate how chemists can utilize this resource to expand theirknowledge of molecular structure and physicochemical properties. More than a database, it’s a knowledgebase.
