Abstract
This article on AIDS presents one of the first surveys conducted in France by researchers in the human sciences at anonymous and free AIDS testing centers. The survey was conducted in Marseille in 1989 and relies on interviews with health professionals and people who came for screening.The authors highlight the modalities of the medical care but especially psychological, the emotional load related to the approach and the act of screening, the impact of free. They also show the different life events that will trigger a screening process, the role of the entourage and health professionals but especially the elements that will lead people to gradually become aware of their vulnerability and potentially their risk of to be contaminated by the AIDS virus
