Abstract
Administration of heparininthe secondary preventionofplacental vascularcomplications is still experimental. In womenwithapreviousplacental abruption, we investigated thee ffectiveness of enoxaparin, a low-molecular-weight heparin,inpreventing thesecomplications.Between January2 000 and January2 009, 160 women fromt he NOHA First cohort, with previousabruptio placentae but no foetal lossduring theirf irst pregnancya nd negative for antiphospholipid antibodies, were randomisedt oe itheraprophylacticd aily dose of enoxaparin starting fromt he positive pregnancy test( n=80), or no enoxaparin (n=80).Theprimary outcomewas acompositeofatleast one of thefollowing: abruptioplacentae,preeclampsia,birthweight<5 th percentile,
