Abstract

Enantiomerically pure (S)-pyrazolyl alanine and its derivatives are nonproteinogenic amino acids with antidiabetic activity. A short and effective enantioselective synthesis of these compounds is described, using a kinetic resolution by an acylase from Aspergillus sp.
