Abstract
Background: The treatment of children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) to prevent disability is a major challenge in paediatric rheumatology. The presence of synovitis, which is difficult to detect in children, is associated with structural damage. Musculoskeletal ultrasonography (MSUS) can be used in patients with JIA to reveal subclinical synovitis. Objective: The primary aim was to determine whether the use of MSUS was associated with therapeutic modification in patients with JIA.
