Abstract
Serranicotyle labracis (Van Beneden et Hesse, 1863) n.g., n.comb., is a monogenea polyopisthocotylea, gill parasite of the bass Dicentrachus labrax (Linné, 1758). The taxonomic position of Microcotyle labracis is revised by the authors that create for this species the genus Serranicotyle ; this genus is placed in the family Microcotylidae and in the sub-family Atriasterinae. They give a key for the genera of this family.
