Given that heating and cooling account for nearly half of global energy use, thermal energy storage (TES) materials are at the forefront of the transition toward carbon neutrality. TES materials have the potential to be sourced from abundant, renewable resources to further enhance the sustainability and circularity of TES technologies. Efficient composites that operate across various temperature ranges with enhanced thermal conductivity and reduced leakage can be fabricated with the use of biomass‐derived PCMs, carbons, and polymers produced through biorefinery processes.
