Abstract
Oral health contributes to the physical and mental well-being of individuals, and is intrinsically linked to general health. During the course of a woman’s life, the risk of developing oral pathologies can be increased. This is particularly true during pregnancy, when the mother-to-be is particularly exposed to preventable oral pathologies. Midwives play an active role in ensuring the good health of pregnant women and their future children, by playing a key role in oral health prevention.
