Résumé
This introductory paper assesses the contributions that a Global Value Chain framework can make to management studies by allowing for a contextualized view of the firm in a global era. First, we show how a GVC perspective allows for a better understanding of the ways in which enterprises, in interaction with other actors, contribute to shape the globalization process. Second, we discuss the consequences of such strategies from the perspective of sustainable local development.
