Résumé
In the course of May 1996, five earthquakes induced changes in water level, chemistry and gas composition of confined aquifers in Arax country, in Armenia. In particular, piezometric and hydrochemical data of Ararat well, measured respectively since 1982 and 1995, show simultaneous changes during this seismic crisis. Some deformation mechanisms are suggested, allowing these anomalies to be explained.
