Résumé
This article examines the conditions of access to the experience lived by headteachers during their professional practice, outside of the advantageous narrative, in a profession where self-presentation is a professional skill (Barbier, 2011). More specifically, it reports on the impact of a continuing education system that allows the repatriation, in a training situation, of certain experiences lived by school principals, based on singular uses of the self-confrontation interview and the video tool. From a theoretical point of view, this article is rooted in a research program conducted in culturalist anthropology whose central object is the study of the construction of the professional subject in training and/or at work (Chalies, 2012). In addition to gaining knowledge of the activities actually carried out by school leaders in work situations (Bos and Chalies, 2019), the results produced question the circumstances that foster professional development based on video capture of lived experiences.
