Abstract
Bioelectrochemistry is the discipline that develops concepts and electrochemical methods for the study of biological objects, from molecule to organized systems. Its application fields cover as well fundamental mechanism of electronic or ionic transfer in living world as biotechnologic developments. This article provides a quick overview of the various aspects of the discipline. It is complemented in this issue by three articles that bring a special focus on current applications : bioanalytical, biomedical and bioenergetic
