Résumé
The hydrodistillated essential oil of Guarea cedrata (A. Chev.) Pellegr. bark was analyzed by capillary GC and GC/MS. It was found that the oil consisted exclusively of sesquiterpenes, representing 97.1% volatiles, among which 68.0% were hydrocarbons and 29.1% were oxygenated components. The major constituents were found to be β-caryophyllene (45.1%) and globulol (11.1%).
