Résumé

caprylic and capric acids Cyperaceae cyperene cyperotundone essential oil composition rotundene Scleria striatinux β-pinene
An essential oil obtained in a yield of 0.13% by hydrodistillation of the rhizomes of the species Scleria striatinux De Wild. (Cyperaceae) was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Thirty-eight compounds have been identified in the oil of which α- and β-pinene represent more than half of the total monoterpene content (42.4%). Among the sesquiterpenes (30.4%), the major component is cyperene (8.0%). Some non-terpenic compounds (12.5%), among which caprylic and capric acids were the most abundant, were also characterized.
